On December 10, 2024, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a global analytics agency in higher education, released the latest edition of the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025, highlighting the world’s leading universities in achieving sustainable development goals.

The 2025 QS Sustainability Rankings feature 1,743 universities from 107 countries and territories, an increase of 349 institutions compared to the previous year.

This third edition of the QS Sustainability Rankings includes 17 Kazakhstani universities, a remarkable achievement for our country’s higher education system. Last year, only 12 universities from Kazakhstan were featured in the rankings.

Despite the significant increase in participants and growing competition, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) has maintained a strong position.

In the global QS Sustainability Rankings 2025, EKTU secured a place in the 1351-1400 range and ranked in the Top 10 among Kazakhstani universities.

The university achieved its highest scores in the indicators for “Environmental Impact” (#331) and “Sustainable Governance” (#435), underscoring its commitment to sustainable development, adherence to ethical standards, environmental responsibility, and transparent decision-making processes. Additionally, there has been positive progress in the “Social Impact” category, including subcategories such as “Equality,” “Knowledge Exchange,” and “Educational Impact.”

Congratulations to our university on this outstanding achievement in sustainable development! We wish continued progress and success in this vital area of growth!
