Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) proudly announces the success of its leading scientists in the national competition for grant funding of scientific and/or scientific-technical projects for 2025–2027. The support was provided within the priority areas of the Republic of Kazakhstan's scientific and technological development, such as ecology and rational nature management, advanced technologies and materials, the country’s intellectual potential, and life and health sciences.
Receiving these grants confirms the high scientific and research potential of EKTU, demonstrates national recognition of the university's contributions, and highlights its role as a key scientific center in East Kazakhstan. The university’s scientists continue not only to advance academic science but also to solve applied problems that have a direct impact on the well-being of the region and the sustainable development of the country as a whole.
The following scientific projects were awarded grant support:
- «Tin Mines of East Kazakhstan in the System of Ancient Eurasian Metallurgy». Scientific Supervisor: Evgeniy Vodyasov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher at the «Altin Altai» Museum.
- «Development of Composite Coatings Based on W/W-NiCr and Their Testing Under Conditions Simulating the Operating Mode of a Fusion Reactor Divertor». Scientific Supervisor: Aizhan Baidildina, PhD, Senior Researcher, Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Construction and Energy.
- «Mathematical and Algorithmic Support for an Intelligent System for Clinical Decision-Making in Hematology and Diabetology Based on Blood Gasometry Technology». Scientific Supervisor: Zhenisgul Rakhmetullina, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor at the International School of Engineering.
- «The Kazakh Family in the System of Social Relations: Potential and Problems of Inter-Institutional Interaction in the Context of Modernization». Scientific Supervisor: Eleonora Stolyarova, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Chief Researcher at the International Research Center «DIGITAL SOCIAL RESEARCH».
- «East Kazakhstan: Trajectories of Socio-Demographic and Socio-Cultural Transformation of Urban Spaces in Semey and Ust-Kamenogorsk». Scientific Supervisor: Aleksandr Alekseenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor (VAK), Leading Researcher at the International Research Center «DIGITAL SOCIAL RESEARCH».
- «Assessment of the Impact of Industrial Enterprises in Ust-Kamenogorsk on the Quality of Drinking Water». Scientific Supervisor: Zhanat Idrisheva, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor at the School of Earth Sciences.
- «Soil Quality Research in Areas of Anthropogenic Impact from Non-Ferrous Metallurgical Enterprises». Scientific Supervisor: Marzhan Sadenova, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Leading Researcher at the Laboratory of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing.
- «Comprehensive Study and Preventive Model of Gaming Addiction in Kazakhstan: An Interdisciplinary Approach». Scientific Supervisor: Nailya Saifullina, PhD, Leading Researcher at the Research Office.
The importance of these projects extends far beyond the academic community. They aim to improve the environmental situation, advance medical digitalization, strengthen social resilience, develop intellectual capital, and reinforce cultural identity. Implementation of EKTU’s scientific initiatives will contribute to improving the quality of life in the region and enhance the university’s contribution to the sustainable development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
