On November 6, 2025, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University hosted an award ceremony for the participants of the waste paper collection contest, which took place from June 2 to June 16, 2025. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and engage the university community in practical actions for environmental protection.
The event was organized within the framework of the national environmental movement “Taza Qazaqstan”, which seeks to foster a responsible attitude toward nature, reduce waste, and raise environmental culture across the country. The university’s participation in this initiative is part of its systematic efforts to implement national and regional goals in the field of sustainable development.
During the contest, hundreds of kilograms of recyclable materials were collected. Winners and active participants received letters of appreciation and commemorative eco-friendly gifts. The prizes were designed in line with the principles of environmental responsibility and the Well-being concept — focusing on useful, reusable, and long-lasting items.
Such initiatives contribute to shaping environmentally conscious behavior and promote the principles of sustainable development in the university’s life, supporting the goals of the “Taza Qazaqstan” campaign.
