D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University hosted meetings for students of the School of Geosciences of the Civil Service Affairs Department as part of the Young Civil Servant School project.
The meetings were organized for graduating students to introduce them to professional opportunities in public institutions and the procedure for entering the civil service.
Department representatives explained the main requirements for candidates, the stages of competitive selection and the testing procedure. Participants learned about the specifics of entering the civil service for the first time, the competitive selection process and employment opportunities for young professionals.
Special attention was given to the Young Civil Servant School project. Students were introduced to opportunities to study at the East Kazakhstan branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to undertake internships in public institutions. This format allows future professionals to gain practical insight into the civil service, acquire professional experience and develop the necessary competencies.
The meetings also included information about the 'With a Diploma to the Village' program and the social support measures available to professionals who move to rural communities to live and work.
The meetings were held in an open-dialogue format. Students received information about potential career paths, requirements for future civil servants and prospects for professional development.
The civil service offers young professionals new opportunities for professional growth and for applying their knowledge. Learning about these opportunities while still at university helps students plan their career paths with greater confidence.
