On 4 November 2026, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University hosted a guest lecture and a mock job interview with representatives of KAZ Minerals Aktogay LLP. The events introduced students to the work of a modern industrial enterprise and helped them prepare for future employment.
The guest lecture, “Equipment Reliability at KAZ Minerals,” began at 10:20 a.m. It was delivered by Dulat Beisenali, Senior Equipment Reliability Engineer at KAZ Minerals Aktogay LLP, and attended by second- and third-year university students.
The speaker introduced the company and the Aktogay mining and processing complex, explaining how the reliability team helps keep production equipment operating efficiently. Particular attention was paid to diagnostic techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis, which help detect developing faults and prevent unplanned downtime.
Using real-world industrial examples, students explored equipment condition monitoring, maintenance planning and approaches to improving operational reliability. The speaker also shared insights from his own professional development and career progression within the company.
At 1:00 p.m., KAZ Minerals representatives held a mock interview, giving students an opportunity to become familiar with the recruitment interview process and employers’ expectations of prospective specialists.
Events of this kind strengthen cooperation between D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University and leading industrial companies. They also help students deepen their professional knowledge, gain a clearer understanding of their future careers and prepare more confidently to enter the labour market.
