D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University welcomed a delegation from the European Digital UniverCity Alliance (EDUC). The international consortium was established within the framework of a European Union initiative and brings together European universities to promote education, research, and academic cooperation.
The delegation represented Masaryk University, the University of Potsdam, the University of Pécs, and Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.
During the visit, the guests met with the EKTU leadership, representatives of the Dean’s Office of the School of GeoSciences, faculty members, and doctoral students. The participants discussed prospects for international cooperation, the exchange of experience, and the implementation of joint educational and research initiatives.
The discussions focused on developing cooperation in Earth sciences, geology, geography, and geospatial technologies. The international colleagues learned about EKTU’s key research areas, scientific potential, and modern laboratory infrastructure.
As part of the programme, the guests were given a tour of the university’s laboratories, where they were introduced to state-of-the-art equipment, ongoing research, and developments by EKTU researchers.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Akbauyr historical and cultural complex, where the participants learned about the unique archaeological heritage of East Kazakhstan.
The meeting marked an important step towards strengthening international academic ties and expanding cooperation between D. Serikbayev EKTU and European universities.
