On November 4, the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking agency published the results of the new QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026.

This year, 1,526 universities from 25 countries across the region were included in the ranking, among which 44 universities represent Kazakhstan — a new record for the country’s higher education sector.

According to QS Asia 2026, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) is ranked 309th. This year, EKTU demonstrated progress across several key indicators:

  • Academic Reputation — increased from 41.2% in 2024 to 47.4% in 2025, confirming growing recognition by the academic and educational community.
  • Employer Reputation — significant improvement from 31.9% to 54.2%, indicating higher graduate competitiveness and stronger ties with industry.
  • International Research Network — growth from 1.5% to 18.6%, reflecting expanding international scientific collaboration.
  • Faculty/Student Ratio — one of the university’s strongest results, rising from 85% to 94.1%, demonstrating the high quality of the learning environment.
  • The share of international students and faculty also continued to increase, reinforcing EKTU’s status as an international hub attracting young researchers.

These achievements confirm the high level of trust from both the academic community and employers, as well as the effectiveness of the university team’s efforts across all areas — from science and education to internationalization.
