Representatives of East Kazakhstan Technical University took part in the UI GreenMetric international conference on the topic "Green Campus - Green University: EKTU's Path to a Green Strategy."
The university was represented at the event by:
- Olga Petrova, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the School of Earth Sciences, and Head of the Green Campus Project;
- Valentina Kolpakova, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Higher Attestation Commission, and Head of the Competence and Technology Transfer Center for Water Management and Use;
- Aidana Iliyassova, Master of Technical Sciences and Sustainability Officer.
The conference focused on key aspects of implementing sustainable development principles in university operations, as well as experience-sharing in creating environmentally friendly campuses. Special attention was given to the strategy for developing a green university and integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the educational process and university infrastructure.
EKTU is actively advancing the SDGs and integrating cutting-edge environmental practices into its educational and scientific activities. UI GreenMetric representatives recognized the university as a leader in SDG development in Kazakhstan, highlighting its significant contribution to fostering an environmentally responsible educational environment.
