The University’s Center for Competence and Technology Transfer in Construction has successfully been accredited by the National Accreditation Center as a qualification verification provider for assessing the competence of laboratories engaged in testing construction products and materials.
As of today, it is only the second provider in Kazakhstan in the field of construction that meets international standards for conformity assessment (GOST ISO/IEC 17043-2013 “Conformity Assessment. General requirements for the conduct of proficiency testing”). In total, there are 11 accredited qualification verification providers in Kazakhstan.
The EKTU qualification verification provider for construction products conducts competency assessments in the following areas:
- Aggregate mixtures for road and airfield surfaces and bases;
- Gravel and gravel-sand ballast for railway tracks;
- Heavy and fine-grained concrete;
- Aerated concrete, small wall blocks made of aerated concrete;
- Reinforcing steel and rolled products;
- Brick and ceramic stones;
- Asphalt concrete mixtures and asphalt concrete, black gravel-sand mixtures;
- Soils.
