The School of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing was established on March 1, 2021 as a result of reorganization by separating the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences from the structure.
The School of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing is designed to generate and disseminate new knowledge in the field of mineral processing and metallurgy, to develop and implement advanced technologies in the production process.
The aim of School of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing is to train specialists of a new formation capable of using advanced digital technologies in the field of mining and processing industries and metallurgy.
The teaching staff of School of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing has more than 26 full-time teachers, of which: 14 are candidates of sciences and PhD doctors, 7 have a master's degree.
The school provides training in 5 bachelor's degree programs, 3 Master's degree programs and 1 doctoral degree program. Graduates of the school are specialists in demand in various mining and metallurgical enterprises, including Kazzinc LLP, UMZ JSC, TMK Management Company JSC. Riddersky GOK and OF "Altai" Kazzinc LLP, a branch of RSE "NC KPMS RK" Vniitsvetmet, KAZ Minerals LLP, JSC FIC "Alel", Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, Bakyrchik Mining Enterprise LLP and others.
Russian and state languages are used for teaching at School of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing - full-time and with the use of distance learning technology; in multilingual groups, classes are conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English.
