VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Information Modeling in Problems of Construction and Architecture» was held in St. Petersburg Architecture and Civil Engineering University (SPbUACE) at the end of April 2025.
Currently, worldwide, BIM is driving the integration of design, construction and operation technologies for buildings and structures.
The problems of BIM-technologies were discussed at the sessions of the sections. Most of the reports concerned information modeling in construction tasks. Employees of the Research and Production Center of BIM-technologies of our University Khapin A.V. and Makhiev B.E. in co-authorship with the Executive Director of «Ульбатехцентр» LLP Kenetbaev B.S. presented the report «Examples of application of digital technologies in full-scale surveys of buildings and structures».
New specialized sections of the conference were formed, such as «BIM in estimates - moving up! », «Like BIM, only longer», «AI in construction and architecture tasks», «Training of engineering personnel for digitalization of construction», «Parametric, visual programming, software development», «4D-modeling in construction».
During the conference young scientists from different countries and Russian organisations made reports, round tables and master classes were held, the game «What? Where? When? - from Peter the Great to Modern».
In conclusion, the results of the final stage of the All-Russian TИM Championship Liga СПО2025, organized by SPbUACE, were summarized among colleges from seven Russian cities. This attracted the most interest as the competition showcased projects made using BIM technologies by student teams. Each team consisted of six future professionals: an architect, a designer, plumbing, heating, estimator and BIM coordinator. During the project presentations, their authors demonstrated engineering competence, the advantages of project-based learning, team cohesion, and the ability to defend the decisions made.
The participants of the conference were given an excursion program «Modern Architecture of St. Petersburg», where they could see the new buildings constructed in recent years.
