Every year, the world environmental action "World Cleanup day" is held all over the world on the third Saturday of September. It takes place in 150 countries around the world, where more than 380 million people take part. The worldwide action is aimed at uniting the population of countries to organize activities to clean up territories from garbage. On September 21, 2024, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the world action "World Cleanup day 2024" in all regions of Kazakhstan, including Ust-Kamenogorsk.

EKTU eco-clubs supported the event with their participation.  The ecological Club "Clover" and the Student Ecological Club "FOREST" of the School of Geosciences, as well as the student scientific and technical circle "AQUA" of the School of Architecture, Construction and Energy. This year, first-year students joined the activities of environmental clubs: EP "Land Cadastre and Land Management" 24-ZK-1, EP "Geodesy and Cartography" 24-GT-1 and 24-GTK-1, EP "Forest Resources and Forestry" 24-LD-1 and 24-LDK-1, EP "Life safety and environmental protection" 24-BZHK-1.

The global environmental slogan is "Think globally, act locally." The action took place in the coastal zone of the Ulba River, which allowed drawing public attention to the problem of environmental pollution, in particular water bodies, the importance of preserving the nature of our region and the formation of ecological culture. Participation in the Global Action makes it possible to position the university as a participant in global environmental actions and a country implementing the principles of a "green" economy.
