On November 12, 2025, scientists from D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) took part in the Kazakhstan International Research Conference 2025 titled «Ethics, integrity, and digital transformation: Navigating research in the AI Age». Their participation was carried out within the framework of the research project
AP26101217 «Comprehensive study and preventive model of gambling addiction in Kazakhstan: an interdisciplinary approach», aimed at developing a scientifically grounded system for preventing gaming addiction in the digital era.
A key event was the presentation delivered by the project leader of AP26101217, Aizhan Samambayeva, who presented the research objectives and the project's preliminary results. In her report, she outlined the strategic directions of the study, shared the first analytical findings based on digital and behavioral data, and elaborated on the next stages of the project's implementation. Special attention was given to the interdisciplinary methodology integrating psychological, pedagogical, socio-economic, and digital approaches to studying the factors contributing to gaming addiction.
During the conference, EKTU representatives participated in professional discussions focused on research ethics, academic integrity, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the transformation of scientific practices. The exchange of experience with international experts enables EKTU to strengthen scientific cooperation, expand research networks, and integrate modern approaches to ensuring responsible research and innovation.
