D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University held a working meeting bringing together heads and representatives of the University’s key areas of activity to discuss the implementation and support of the core principles of academic integrity.

The meeting followed the work of the on-site monitoring group of the Academic Integrity League of the Republic of Kazakhstan and provided an opportunity for a comprehensive review of the approaches and mechanisms currently in place at the University.

Academic integrity is an essential component of modern university culture and the quality assurance system. It goes beyond compliance with established requirements in the educational process and involves building an institutional environment based on responsibility, transparency, objectivity and ethical standards.

For this reason, the discussion involved representatives of all major areas of EKTU’s activities. Participants reviewed existing mechanisms for ensuring academic integrity in education, research and organizational processes, cooperation between structural units, and opportunities for further improvement of internal procedures.

Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of academic integrity principles, prevention of potential violations, strengthening the responsibility of all participants in the educational process, and fostering a sustainable culture of integrity among students, faculty and staff.

EKTU considers the results of the Academic Integrity League’s on-site monitoring as an opportunity to objectively assess current processes, identify areas for further development and consistently improve institutional quality assurance mechanisms.

Following the meeting, further priorities were identified for developing the academic integrity system and strengthening coordinated interaction between University units.

For EKTU, academic integrity is not a separate area of activity, but one of the fundamental principles of the university environment, directly linked to the quality of education, the reliability of research results and trust in the University.
