On September 2, 2026, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University launched an Adaptation Week for first-year students, which will run until September 4.

The Adaptation Week is designed to introduce first-year students to the University, the organization of the educational process, the academic environment, and the opportunities available to EKTU students.

The first day began with the “Welcome to the University!” event. Students met the EKTU administration, as well as representatives of the University’s schools and structural divisions.

As part of the program, first-year students were introduced to the key principles of academic integrity at the University, the organization of the educational process, course registration, class scheduling, and the use of electronic educational resources and student services. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for academic mobility and international cooperation, as well as the University’s social and youth policy.

The program continued with meetings with school deans, heads of departments, heads of educational programs, and academic advisors. First-year students had an opportunity to learn more about their schools and educational programs, receive essential information about their studies, and ask questions.

A separate part of the adaptation program is dedicated to introducing students to the University Library. An interactive quest entitled “Find Yourself in the Library” has been prepared to help students explore library resources and discover opportunities for study and personal development.

First-year students were also introduced to the opportunities offered by the EKTU Military Department. They learned about its main areas of activity and the specifics of military training available to students.

During the adaptation period, students will undergo English and Kazakh language proficiency assessments, as well as testing on their knowledge of the University’s Internal Regulations.

The Adaptation Week will be the first step toward the successful integration of first-year students into university life. It will help them become familiar with the EKTU academic environment, find answers to important questions, and feel part of the wider university community.

Welcome to EKTU! We wish all our first-year students a successful start, a vibrant student life, and many new achievements!
