D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) has once again been included in the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, maintaining its position. This year, 2,526 universities from around the world took part in the ranking!
Among Kazakhstani universities, EKTU ranked 3rd — a particularly significant achievement, as we, a regional university, continue to demonstrate stable and impressive results on the global stage.
EKTU ranked among the Top 500 universities in the world in areas such as sustainable urban development, life below water (320), sustainable cities and communities (436), and zero hunger (440). In a number of other SDGs — including gender equality, climate action, responsible consumption, and reduced inequalities — the university is placed in the 601+ category. This ranking evaluates not only academic performance, but also the universities’ contributions to addressing global challenges: from fighting poverty and inequality to protecting the environment and building sustainable communities.
EKTU consistently integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its education, research, infrastructure, and student life.
EKTU continues to move forward to become a modern, open, and sustainable university of the future — for the region, the country, and the world.
