From 26 June to 6 July 2025, the city of Birmingham, Alabama (USA) hosted the World Police and Fire Games — a prestigious international sporting event that brings together the strongest representatives of law enforcement and emergency services from around the world.

This year, the Games gathered over 10,000 athletes from more than 80 countries.

Kazakhstan and D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) take great pride in the outstanding achievement of their graduate, Nurkanat Uteshov, who represented the Turkistan Region.

He became a double-handed champion in arm wrestling, triumphing over some of the strongest opponents from around the world.

Nurkanat graduated from EKTU with a degree in Traffic Management and now serves in the Administrative Police Battalion.

This was not his first appearance on the international stage — in 2022, he also represented Kazakhstan at the World Police and Fire Games held in the Netherlands.

His victory at such a major sporting event is a testament not only to his personal determination and strength of spirit, but also to the high level of professional and physical training he received.

The entire university community sincerely congratulates Nurkanat Uteshov on his well-deserved success and wishes him continued achievements — both in his professional career and in sport.
