School of architecture, civil engineering and energy

The School of Architecture and Construction is one of the oldest schools of the university, which has been the founding faculty of the Road Construction Institute (SDI) since 1958. To this day, many people associate SDI as a brand. In 2023, due to the restructuring of the university structure, the school was merged with the School of Nuclear and Traditional Energy Technologies with the new name School of Architecture, Construction and Energy.

The school trains specialists in the field of architecture, construction, design and construction of highways, water supply and sanitation, thermal energy and electric power, as well as in the following areas: design of the architectural environment; standardization and certification; production of building materials, products and structures.

The school provides training in three areas – bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies. Traditions, the experience of scientific and pedagogical personnel, a unique material and technical base, scientific and educational laboratories, as well as technology transfer competence centers – all this is a guarantee of high-quality graduate training.

Bachelors and masters are trained by 44 full-time teachers. Among them are doctors and candidates of technical sciences, PhD and masters.

The leading teachers are the authors not only of textbooks, textbooks, electronic textbooks, but also of inventions. The school maintains constant creative ties with research institutes, universities, enterprises of the near and far abroad of Kazakhstan and Russia, such as: JSC "KazRICA", KazLAACE, NSUACE, Samara SACE, National Research Center Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, NPO Association Guild of Landscape Engineers (RF).

There are three Centers at the school: the Center for Competencies and Technology Transfer in the field of construction, the Center for Competencies and Technology Transfer in the field of water Management and water Use, the Center for Competencies and Technology Transfer in the field of BIM design, as well as a laboratory for alternative and traditional energy.

For practice-oriented training of specialists, the school has several branches in the areas of training: the branch of the EKTU at “Ust-Kamenogorsk TPP” LLP and at “Sogrinskaya TPP” LLP in the areas of electric and thermal power engineering, the branch of the EKTU at “Kazzinc” LLP in the field of electric power engineering, the branch of “Ulba-Electro” Production and Commercial Company LLP", branch of the State Municipal Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management "Oskemen-Vodokanal" of the Akimat (City Hall) of the city Ust-Kamenogorsk, branch of the Republican State Institution "Yertis Basin Inspectorate for the Regulation of the Use and Protection of Water Resources of the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan"
