Students of D. Serikbayev EKTU took part in the 10th anniversary environmental campaign Clean Games. Clean Games is not just a cleanup event — it’s a real competition where teams race to collect and sort the most waste. Points are awarded for each bag of trash collected and sorted into categories, and participants compete for valuable prizes. The event in Ust-Kamenogorsk was organized by eco-activist Lyudmila Evzhenkova in accordance with international Clean Games rules.
D. Serikbayev EKTU participates in this significant environmental initiative every year, reaffirming its commitment to ecological responsibility. In the spring edition of the Clean Games, our university team once again showcased its dedication.
Valeria Parubchishina, chair of the “Clover” eco-club and a student from group 22-BJ-1, led an initiative team that included active students Grigory Lyapunov (22-MT-1) and Danil Ryzhkov (22-EL-1). Despite challenging weather conditions, the team demonstrated endurance, teamwork, and impressive results.
Participation in Clean Games once again proved that EKTU students — whether future metallurgists, mechanical engineers, or power engineers — understand the importance of environmental responsibility and are ready to contribute to protecting the planet.
The results of the games were remarkable: 57 participants formed 16 teams. Together, they collected 135.3 bags of waste weighing over 900 kg. The sorted waste included: 241 bottle caps, 52.5 bags of mixed waste, 28.95 bags of plastic, 40.35 bags of glass, 13.5 bags of aluminum cans, 84 kg of bulky waste, 10 kg of tires, and 13.26 liters of small litter.
